About Me

Long Island, New York, United States
I'm a 20 year who is currently attending college with a major in Computer Engineering. I have been a gamer pretty much my entire life and I am totally OK with that. People always ask me, "Don't you ever get bored of video games?" And my response?, "Absolutely Not." The way I see it, video games is a way I can get away from reality and relax in an environment where no matter what happens, it's not going to change the outcome of my everyday life, at least I hope it won't :). As stated earlier, I have been a gamer pretty much my entire life. But, within the past year, I have thought to myself, "Wouldn't it be cool to share my gaming experiences with people from all around the world?" Well, that is the premise behind this blog. Within this blog, you will find different pages for the different video games that I am currently playing (PC/Mac Only). Within each games respective page, I will be posting about my thoughts on the game, different updates or patches, and even giving you guys and girls some tips that have helped me in the past with these games. Hopefully you enjoy the content I will provide, and hopefully you will be a long time reader :)

Time For Some PvP Changes/Additions?

Hey guys. This post is going to talk about some things in the PvP area of FlyFF that I would like to see improved or added to the game.

First, let's start off with what could be improved. For 1, the way PvP is now, and for those of you who don't know what that is, it means Player vs. Player, is that you either step into the arena, which you get can to from any major city, and duke it out between anyone and everyone. You can ask another player for a duel in which you 2 are the only players that are able to hit each other. Or, there are Guild Sieges.

For starters, I don't really like the arena. I feel that you can never get a fair fight if you want to go against a bunch of people. There are always people running around the area killing people many levels lower than them and it completely ruins the game for them. In my opinion, while you are in the arena, you shouldn't be allowed to fight anyone that is within 19 levels of you. That way, there is some restrictions as to who can completely own you and who you can have a fair fight between. I feel if this was implemented, many people would enjoy hanging out in the arena fighting people their level. Or, they would enjoy watching 2 high level players fight up close without having to worry about someone killing them.

Next, I would like to get into Duels. Duels in my opinion, are fine the way they are. You can issue a duel between you and a friend, or even a random stranger, and fight to see who wins. They are very balanced and you never have to worry about getting killed from a random stranger. Also, you guys can set the rules with each other. For example, no food is allowed, or certain buffs aren't allowed. It is definitely the way I have the most fun in the game when it comes to PvP.

Finally, my thoughts on Guild Sieges. Well, first I would like to say that I was never involved in one in my many years of playing FlyFF. Reason being is because I never really joined a guild that ever did them, or even a guild that ever communicated with each other. I generally always went guild-less in the game and only joined a guild if one of my friends was the GM for it. But lately, I haven't really ever seen a Guild Siege go on. And when they do happen, people just trade wins in order to get chips. I feel that Guild Siege has completely fallen away from FlyFF and no one does them to see who has the better players. It's quite sad honestly.

Anyway, those are my thoughts on the current PvP that we have available to us in FlyFF. So, what would I like to see added to the game?

Well, for 1, I would like there to be some sort of proper PvP entering system available to us. For instance, an NPC that people can go to in order to "queue" themselves up for different types of PvP selections. For instance, a capture the flag game, a death-match game, or eve a free-for-all game. Of course there will be different brackets available so that people are fighting others that are within a certain level of each other. But personally, I think that this would definitely encourage people to play this game and it will allow people who hit max level to have something else to do rather than just sit around, farm the same items over and over, and try to make money.

What are your opinions on the current PvP things available to us? Do you think that G-Potato is looking past PvP and doesn't care about it? And what are your opinions on what I suggest?

Thanks a bunch and I'm looking forward to reading your responses.

Idea For A New Selling System In FlyFF

Well, as many of you, if not all of you know, FlyFF has the type of item selling system that not many games nowadays run off of, and that is the Private Shop system. In the major cities, and I believe in some other places, you are able to open up a shop and sell items for whatever price you would like for other players to purchase. You can create a helpful title so other players know exactly what you are selling and it makes it easier for your items to sell. Ever since I have played this game, I have always loved this as a way to buy items for great prices. But recently, it hasn't grown onto me as much.

For 1, it takes quite a bit of time to cycle through the 3 main cities and scan every shop manually. I remember back in the day, I used to spend 1-2 hours a day browsing through all the shops to end up not finding what I wanted, or finding it but for a ridiculous price. I feel that this really isn't an efficient way to sell items nowadays, especially since many games have the "Auction House" style for selling goods. It is much cleaner, faster, and more efficient. Not to mention, it gets rid of a TON of lag in major cities since there aren't hundreds of characters trying to sell different things with titles that half the time, make no sense.

So recently, I have been thinking. Maybe it is time that FlyFF to leave the "Private Shop" system behind and jump on the bandwagon and open up the "Auction House" style. I feel that this would be much more helpful to players to find what they want, and for the price they want it, fast and easy. They wouldn't need to spam the chat looking for a certain item, and more importantly, they wouldn't need to waste hours a day looking for that 1 item when they could be leveling. I just feel that it would be a much easier and cleaner way for the game to run and it would make it much more enjoyable.

What are your thoughts? Should the "Private Shop" stay? Should they implement an "Auction House?" Should they combine the 2? Or, should they leave it the way it is and not mess with something that seems to have been working since the beginning?

Let me know :)

Finally Able To Login

A quick post just letting you guys and girls know that after much wait, I have finally been able to log into the game. I honestly have no idea what was causing this problem for me. I thought that it was a corrupted file or something that was causing my game to instantly freeze, but that wasn't the problem. I know this because i tried a full uninstall of the game and then a full reinstall and that still didn't work. The only thing that I can think of for this not working is maybe....yea...I got nothing.

But whatever. Since I am finally able to log into the game, I will be able to throw some more posts at all of you. Hopefully you guys have enjoyed my posts recently, and sorry again for the delay in them. I was going to post on my thoughts of the patches today, but I will leave that for tomorrow since I got a ton of college work to get done tonight.

Thanks again for your patience :)

P.S. If you are interested in the game League of Legends, click on the League of Legends tab and follow the link that it gives you. It will take you to my second blog that is all about the game that I have been playing for quite some time. Hopefully if will spark some interest for those of you who are looking for a new game to play.

Technical Difficulties

Alright guys. I am in dire need of help right now. A couple days ago, I was playing FlyFF when the most bizarre thing happened. I logged off the game only to return later than night unable to login to the game. But, this wasn't like a password problem, or a disconnected from server problem. The following is what happens:

1. Open up FlyFF

2. Enter in my username and password

3. Choose my server

4. Select my character and hit enter

No big deal right? Well, after I hit enter, my computer loads for about 5-10 seconds, and then BAM!!, freezes. That's right. My computer freezes completely and I am forced to restart. So whatever. I restart my computer thinking that maybe I was low on virtual memory. I try to go back into the game, and what happens? The exact same thing. So this time, I thought to myself, maybe server 1 is just too crowded and it keeps disconnecting me. So I tried to login to a different channel. But to no avail, computer froze yet again. Finally, I figured that maybe my character was stuck in one of those areas that "breaks" the game. So I tried to login to a differnet character, and BAM!!, the computer freezes yet again.

So now I am completed out of ideas as to what to do. I know its not my computer specs since I have been playing this game for 2 years on the same laptop. This laptop is nowhere near bad and it runs the game perfectly fine on max settings. Unfortunately, my desktop is currently not working so I haven't been able to try and login from another computer.

Anyway, I honestly have no idea what the problem could be. I was hoping that maybe 1 of my readers could assist me or at least point me in the general direction of a solution to this problem. I searched the forums, as well as google and couldn't find any answers.

Hopefully 1 of you guys can help me out so I can get back into playing and get into making the videos that I have planned for you guys. Thanks

P.S. I have also tried re-installing the game and that hasn't worked either :(

Tips For Leveling A Ringmaster

Hey guys. For this post, I wanted to throw a little bit of "tip" to all of you out there who are maybe having a difficult time starting a character on a new server, or maybe trying to level another character. What I plan on aiming at is helping you out with some general knowledge for when the best time to level is.

#1. Look for the right event. What I mean by this is, try to level a new character whenever you know there is going to be an event released that will either increase your Attk, Def, EXP, or have a box drop that is worth it. The reason(s) behind this is because in the times of these event(s), this is when the most players are online and this is the easiest time to find a "plvl" for your assist/RM. Since many players will be online and leveling, especially during an EXP even, your chances of finding a partner to "RM" around will be much greater and your leveling time will double, if not triple.

#2. Play at the right time. Since every server is different with their community, this tip will have you do a little bit of research. What you want to do is find the best time for your server that players are on the most. Usually, mid-day(3-4pm) to early night (7-9pm) you will find the most players on and active. During these times, this is when you want to make sure you are on and constantly scanning through shouts looking for someone that is in need of a RM.

#3. Be polite and make a friend. This, in my opinion, is one of the things that I look for while I am leveling and have another player RMing me around. There is nothing worse, at least for me, that having a RM who never speaks and never responds to you if you ask them a question, or tell them that you need to return to town to sell. Or, what really grinds my gears, are the RMs who constantly ask you to keep killing and don't stop. And then they proceed to ask how long you are going to be leveling for and if you can get them to a certain level. As soon as I see a RM do this to me, I usually tell them that I have to go and I log-off. There is nothing worse than being harassed when you are trying to play the game for fun. Make sure that you say "hello" and "thank you" during the process of being their partner. Also, try to make small talk with your partner. Just because people are leveling, that doesn't mean that they wouldn't enjoy a nice conversation while they are leveling. In all honesty, I prefer it. It makes the time fly by and it lets me relax a little knowing. People really enjoy talking to others, especially when they are polite and thankful. And who knows, maybe you will make a friend out of it and you can be his/hers permanent RM.

#4. Use a Full-Shout. This tip is a little expensive, especially if you don't have the funds from another character. But, that doesn't mean you still can't use one. For example, I have a lot of friends on my server (Lawolf) and many of them are RMs. Sometimes, when I am not leveling, or when I am not using my Full-Shout, my friends will ask me if I can shout for them for a little bit. They ask politely and they don't harass me for it. So, I will usually, 9 times out of 10, say "of course" and help them find a partner. You will be surprised how many people will appreciate your kindness and Full-Shout for you. Of course you will sometimes run into those people who are nasty back to you and tell you to go buy a Full-Shout for yourself, but that is just the way some people are. Just remember, for every person who is mean to you, there is always another person who will be polite.

#5. Don't quit. This seems simple enough, but if you want to excel in this game, you are going to need patience, time, and dedication, especially when leveling a RM. Since RMs nowadays are full-INT, you will not be able to fight your way to level. So, you are going to have to constantly look for partners up to 19 levels higher than you that you can support in order for you to level. This can be quite tedious, especially at lower levels since almost everyone out there has their own personal RM that they will use. But stick with it. Flyff around some leveling areas if you have to and ask people politely if they need a FS to buff and heal them. You have a 50-50 chance of them saying "yes," and if they do, thank them. Being thankful is something people like to see and it makes them realize that there are nice people in this game. However, if they do say "no," don't harass them. If you see they don't have buffs, buff them with what you have, wish them "good-luck" leveling, and then be on your way. You will be surprised how many people will message you saying "thanks" and friend you for being kind. And then they will invite you to level with them.

Those are pretty much the best tips that I can give to all future players out there who are leveling a RM. Hopefully this will help you guys as it has helped me. Being kind and thankful is the #1 key to people liking you in this game. If you can succeed at that, than you will have no problem leveling your RM :)

Different Ways to Reach Me

Well, if you couldn't tell by the title of this post, this is going to be a post about the different ways you can reach me, both in FlyFF and out of game. Don't worry, I'm not giving out my phone number or home address, just various different sites that I use.

FlyFF

FemaleFighter(91 1v1 BP on Lawolf)

This is really the only character that I play on anymore. I haven't started my RM yet, but even when I do, this character will always be logged on in order to buff myself while I level. If you are looking to reach me in game, this is the name to contact me on.

YouTube

Diglio

Yes, I do run and operate a YouTube channel. My friend and I started this channel about 2 years ago during our freshman year of college. We mostly do Let's Plays of various different games, both new and retro. We do both solo Let's Plays and Co-Op Let's Plays. For those of you who aren't familiar with Let's Plays, what we do is choose a game for either a console or the PC, and then we play through it while commentating over it. Our commentary is mostly humorous and we like to yell and scream at eachother. If we do make fun of people, we do not mean it. We do this strictly for fun and we do not mean to harm anyone.

Also, I will be recording some of my FlyFF videos and uploading them to YouTube as well as to my blog. However, they will probably be up on YouTube 1-2 days before I post them on my blog. So, if you want to get a head start on watching them, then subscribe to my YouTube channel. We play games for everyone and I'm sure we have a video game for you.

Twitter

MDiglio

Twitter is a way to find out what I'm doing. Usually, most of my tweets are about new videos that I have uploaded to YouTube, or comments that I have made for my YouTube videos. However, whenever something cool happens, I usually post it on Twitter. If you are interested in knowing what I'm doing, or how my gaming is going on, follow me. :)

LeagueDB

www.leagueDB.com

This is a website for a game that I have been playing since it's beta release, League of Legends. I have been playing this along with FlyFF for the past 1 1/2 - 2 years. This site however, is a new site that I am a part of. What I do is post articles about different items in the game and new champions that are brought to the game. We have a forum section that we are trying to get going as well. If you play League of Legends, or are interested in playing it, you can download it for free (and yes, this game is totally free to play) and play along with me. You can find the download link below along with my In-Game-Name

That is everything I use. If you do end up following me on any of the sites linked above, leave it in the comments and I will personally thank you and say hello :)

Thanks again :)

Creating My Personal RM

Well, after talking to a bunch of my friends in game, as well as reading your thought(s) Altaius, I have decided, if you couldn't already tell my the title, to start my own personal RM.

What I plan to do is make this character, probably tomorrow, and try to level her up as fast as I can. I want to get her within the 19 level range of my BP so that I can dual client with her and not have to worry about looking for a RM.

However, in order to make this fun for both myself, and you guys as the readers, I wanted you guys/girls to follow me along my journey to leveling up my future RM. What I wanted to do was take a couple screen-shots while I was leveling, or maybe even some video clips of my plvls (cause you know I am going to need to get plvled), and show them to you guys so you can track my progress.

Also, I wanted to extend this idea to my BP once I start leveling her again. I feel it would be cool, for my readers, to be able to see me do some leveling by watching it on video. My plan was, on my BP at least, was to show me getting my last 1% to level and then showing you my level up. I feel it would be cool to see my "grinding" sessions and you guys can see how I play.

Anyway, let me know what you guys think of this idea or how else I can make it fun for you guys. Since, I blog for my viewers, and I feel most blogs aren't as interactive, I want to start heading in that direction. I encourage you guys to leave me a comment, even if its quick, letting me know what you guys would like to see out of me in my future posts.

Thanks again :)

Best Way To Get Going...Again?

Hey guys. This is another quick post mostly asking for help from you all.

Since my recent return to FlyFF, I have been in quite the dilemma. I am currently a level 91 1v1 BP with moderate gear. By moderate I mean a level 9 Vagrant Set that has all the essential awakes that a 1v1 BP needs to have. I am also carrying a HK +10 with a pretty decent awake and Earth +10. My shield is also granting me +12 or 13 crit I believe, I am not exactly sure...Actually, if you want to check my gear, check out one of my previous posts where I show-off the gear I am using....And yes, before you say anything about my crappy rings and earrings, I know they are terrible, and they definitely need to be upgraded.

Now, the point of this post was to ask you guys for a little advice. I normally just ask for your thoughts on patches and how you think they panned out over the course of the week. But, for this post, I am in some dire need of help. Being a 91 1v1 BP, and tight on cash is no easy task. I have been looking all over the place for a FS-RM to level with, but with no Full Shout, I have had no luck.

So now, I resort to only a few choices:

1. Shop around. Looking for deals so that I can make money. And by this of course, I mean play the merchant game until I have a sufficient amount of money in order to upgrade some of my gear to make leveling a bit easier. Also, if I do this, I would do this until an EXP event comes around, when all the RM's come out of hibernation.

2. Solo level. I know this is a very rough idea. Especially with the gear that I have. If I had a +8 or +10 set, then this wouldn't be as bad. But having only a +3 set, with next to no armor, I get hit like a truck, especially if I get hit with a critical strike. Also, I know the EXP is pretty bad when leveling by yourself.

3. Dual-Client with a level 1 character that I have while I level. Again, not having amazing gear is going to hurt me since I will be using food for a long time, and using lots of it. The EXP would be much better, but it would still be pretty rough.

4. Stick to looking for a FS-RM to level with. I know that this is probably the best option, but I am just getting way to impatient. I would really like to play this game and start my grind to 139, but it's getting so dam hard to find a RM to level with. If only there was a way in order to get a Full Time RM

5. Level a new character (probably a RM) while I keep an eye on chat for an RM's looking for a level 91 to level with. I would of course Dual-Client my BP for the buffs, so leveling wouldn't be such a pain. Especially if I can grab a power-level all the way to RM status.

These are pretty much all the options that I have. So, what I would like all my readers to help me with, is let me know what you guys think I should do. Please leave a comment with what option you think is best and leave a little reason as to why you would choose that.

Thanks a bunch :)

My Return Back to FlyFF

Well guys. After like 4-5 months of not playing FlyFF, it is now safe to say, that I have returned. The break that was taken was due to school, having a job, and I just needed a bit of a break from this game after all my playing throughout the summer :)

This isn't going to be a long post, just a few things that I have noticed since my return.

V16 is now in effect. This is crazy. I remember playing this games since like V5. This game has come quite a long way, and our fellows at G-Potato are very devoted to their game. Having weekly patches that bring new events that keep their players playing, and keep their players addicted. V16 is already looking awesome. I have only played for maybe 30 mins. And when I say played, I take that lightly. I pretty much spent all that time getting familiar with the controls, my character, my items, and everything else around me. After I had that down, it was off to check the merchants and see how the prices have changed. I must say, I was pretty amazed to see that prices really haven't fluctuated as much as I would have guessed. The only thing that I can really see is that the prices for Azria tickets have went up by what I have noticed, 15 mil or so. This isn't really that unexpected because when I stopped playing, the price was going up and I expected them to keep going up.

Aside from this, I really didn't get a chance to play around with anything else. I still want to do a "returning damage test" for my 1v1 BP. I haven't heard much about them to see if they are still effective or if they have lost their touch. But that doesn't matter, because I will still be playing her :)

**A quick message to my follwers**

I will be updating this guide pretty regularly throughout every week. So please be patient and I hope you will enjoy the content that will be provided :)

I won the Blog for Rewards

Well, the title does say it all.

First off, I would really like to thank the Bloggers over at US_FlyFF for recognizing my blog and publicizing it to the rest of the FlyFF community. Even though it has been 3-4 months since my last post, I am still very thankful that my blog was picked as a winner.

When I first started this blog, I really didn't have any intention on winning. To be honest, I didn't even expect people out there to read it, let alone leave me comments. Seeing as I only have a few followers, and that is perfectly fine with me, I do thank each and every one of you for following along my FlyFF journey.

I have just recently returned to playing FlyFF. I had to take quite a long break due to real life stuff, but now that it has been fully resolved, I am back to playing a game that I really do enjoy...FlyFF. I will be updating this blog as frequently as I can. Giving you my thoughts about patches, and events, as well as having you guys and girls follow along my character. Hopefully the followers that I have now will stick around for the ride once again, and I welcome new followers aboard.

Thank you again

-Mike
